There is nothing so fine as shellac. That amber glow is inimitable. It’s fun to apply — once you get the hang of it. It’s one of the oldest and most beautiful finishes around, and it’s “green” too! Why more people don’t use it, I just don’t know!
Started shellacking at about 7:30 this A.M. in the quiet and the morning sun. Last few days, lots more wood trim is in and stained, more doors stained with their first coat of shellac. I’ll let the pictures tell the rest:

The finishing looks really gorgeous. I love the way wood was used in this project.
