We ain’t gonna vote Republican, but also sure ain’t gonna vote for a Democrat who’s starting to look like an evangelical. You’re starting to sound more and more like Huckabee or Romney! You’re making a lot of us not want to vote at all.

I hear you, Marty. This overzealous appeal to religious voters is making Obama look trivial and weak. Be a man, Bam (as Maureen Dowd calls you). If religion could make the world better, wouldn’t it have done it by now? Religion is a system designed to serve the interests of, well, mostly men. People need to wake up and see the truth of religion in their lives. Sure, it’s nice to fellowship on Sundays, but what public social problems has religion really changed? Wars still rage. Violence is up. Poverty persists. Hunger continues. Some of the problems are getting worse. Tax dollars to faith-based initiatives? Who will benefit? Ministers in Mercedes. Visit a church on Sunday and check it out.
