This was my journey through life today.
Had my coffee and granola out here…

had to get ready to go into the city. Very difficult to go this morning. It was quiet, no distant traffic noise or dogs barking. Just the birds, squirrels, and the wind through the trees.
I made good time to the near north side - 1 hour-fifteen. Then it took me a half hour to find a spot to park! Went to meet my friend Lee, and check up on a project my friend Roger and his son Matt Keys are working on. Matt had fabricated and welded the steel, out in their shop out in DeKalb, for this skylight which had to be recreated based on original blueprints by Holabird and Root. Today was the day for installation and it fit perfectly. Bravo Matt!
Got back by 2:30 and had time to roam the neighborhood. This is our neighborhood, and what I love about where we live.

This is what I hate about where we live!

This “weed”, a mullein, made it’s home just outside our front door.

I don’t have the heart to cut it down - it’s almost seven feet tall already. My wife says it’s “too phallic looking” and wants me to get rid of it. I don’t understand what her problem is with that?
