Gone Fishing

Called my broker to set up a life insurance policy today. I don’t want something to happen to me and have my wife get stuck alone in this huge mortgage, and/or my daughter not able to finish school.

A few recent deaths of friends my age (and even younger), and friends of friends, some with kids still at home, has reminded me not to put it off any longer. I don’t plan on departing any time soon, but then I don’t get to make that call, do I?

Anyways, besides that, I decided I’ve got to catch up on some relationships and fading friendships - many already waned beyond revival, so I need to put some time in there. And, I’ve GOT to go on a binge of work AND get the fiddle playing ready for auditions.

So to get back some of the discipline I’ve been lacking, I’m going to cut back on some of the time-wasting habits, cut down on the “wine-tasting”, and try to get to bed earlier and get more sleep. Blogging and surfing the web for hours has to take the back seat for a while. So, unless it’s something amazing or big, I’ll be gone fishing for a while - well, figuratively.

Now a real vacation…what’s that?
