Living room go done late friday, wall coverings are in. Hard to do with stitches and all, but I managed.

There is nothing so fine as shellac. That amber glow is inimitable. It’s fun to apply — once you get the hang of it. It’s one of the oldest and most beautiful finishes around, and it’s “green” too! Why more people don’t use it, I just don’t know!

What’s gotten done on the house since last week?
Here’s that little retaining wall I mentioned a couple of posts ago:

“Little” doesn’t describe the amound of hand digging and sweat it took! Also, the plumbing is done and the leak fixed (also mentioned previously), drywall is patched, but still has to be mudded and textured [...]

Well it turned out to be a long day. Starting with helicoptors flying over head in the early monrning. Then the painteres showed up early and I had to put on my carpenter hat and do some exterior wood replacement while they had the ladders up.

Crazy busy the last two weeks. Lots more done on the house.
Got most of the lower deck rebuilt. Had to get it done before the excavator comes and helps us with some needed regrading. That’s the deck where the hot tub used to be and I had to re-build some of the [...]

Easing on down the road, my daughter’s room is almost finished - and the first room in the house that will be completely done (well, almost — except for the closet and the drawers and door for the built-in dresser).
